We all want to give our kids the best possible start. But life is busy and transitions can be hard on everyone. With seamless childcare, kids spend more time learning and less time commuting.
Parents of school-aged kids in BC struggle to find high-quality affordable childcare close to home. Many have to juggle competing schedules and make it through multiple pick-ups and drop-offs every day. Others worry about the quality of care their kids are receiving in unlicensed spaces.
Adding before- and after-school care to the public school day seamlessly combines childcare and public education, and produces big benefits for kids, families and communities.
By using the classrooms and education support workers already found in every public school, we could have thousands of new spaces for school-aged kids, right now, without having to build a single new space.
We are working to get the BC government to expand seamless childcare to communities across the province. It’s just a matter of adding before- and after- school care inside schools, run by school districts, and using existing school staff and spaces.
If you agree families need seamless childcare in every community, join our campaign!
